Term 4 Week 2

Icy Poles Are Back for Term 4!

Term 4 has kicked off brilliantly, and as the weather begins to warm up, students can look forward to cooling down with a refreshing icy pole. Our senior student leaders will be selling icy poles for $1 each lunchtime from Monday to Thursday

All proceeds will go towards supporting the development of our exciting new ninja playground.

Please note our canteen will operate as usual on Fridays.

Thank you for your support in helping us make this fundraiser a success and for giving our students a fun way to stay cool this term!

Colour Fun Run

ALERT: GET READY FOR THE BEST SCHOOL DAY EVER!

Hi families,

We are holding a School Fun Run this year. We will be raising much needed funds in the lead up to our event for our Ninja playground with a target of $25,000, so we’re asking all families to pitch in!

We are super excited to announce that we will be holding our event on Friday 21st November 2025 at School!

What is the School Fun Run?

It is an online fundraising program, where all families go home and create their own online profile. You then choose your target prizes and work towards hitting your target!  In your profile you will have a unique cyber safe link to share with your family and friends to donate to get you close to your target.

What do we need you to do?

All we need you to do this week is create an online profile at funrun.com.au. The class with the most profiles by Monday 13th October will all get an icy pole!

Also, in the second week of our campaign, keep an eye out for the Wristband Competition for a chance to win a $500 Prize Credit!

This is an inclusive fundraiser we would love you to be apart of! If you would like to come down and watch your kids run, we would love to see you there!

Thank you all in advance.

My Time Support Group

We have been contacted by Nicole Bryson, Events coordinator and My Time facilitator, who has let us know about an exciting initiative in our local area.

MyTime is a free, facilitated peer support program for parents and carers of children under the age of 18 who need a higher level of care than other children. This might be because of disability, chronic medical condition, or other additional needs including developmental delay.
Our local MyTime group operates in Newport.

MyTime is a place to socialise, to discuss, to get information, and to support and be supported by other parents and carers. It’s a world away from appointments and therapy.

Members get to plan the group sessions around their specific needs as carers. You might choose to have a guest speaker, do self-care or craft activities, or just relax with a coffee and talk with people who understand.
Preschool-age children are welcome to attend. A play leader will be on hand to engage children in play.

Click here to find out more about the Term 4 meetings.

Ride and Walk to School day

St Mary’s Primary School is excited to celebrate Ride and Walk to School Day on Wednesday, 22nd October! We invite all students to get involved by walking, riding, or scooting their way to school.

This event is a fantastic opportunity to promote healthy lifestyles, environmental awareness, and physical activity. Every student who participates will earn valuable House points, making it a fun and friendly competition between Houses.

We also encourage families to take part by walking or cycling together. It’s a great way to support your children, enjoy some fresh air, and spend quality time together before the school day begins.

If you live too far to walk or ride the entire way, why not “park and stride” park a short distance from school and walk the rest of the way? This small change helps ease traffic congestion and supports safe, active travel for everyone.

Let’s make this event a great success! Encourage your children to get involved, earn House points, and experience the many benefits of walking or riding to school. We look forward to seeing everyone out and about on Wednesday, 22nd October!
