St Mary’s Primary School is thrilled to announce the exciting addition of Ninja Playground equipment to our school grounds!
This new initiative will see a variety of equipment introduced over the year, and we’ll be fundraising throughout to help make it possible. Each class’s Junior School Council representatives were recently shown several equipment options, and after careful consideration, they’ve chosen the vertical wall obstacle as the first item to be installed. This challenging and fun piece of equipment will help build strength, coordination, and confidence in our students.
To support this project, we’re holding a Casual Clothes Day on 30 June. Students are encouraged to come dressed in their favourite casual outfit and bring a gold coin donation to help kickstart the fundraising effort.
We’re excited to see the Ninja Playground take shape and thank our school community for supporting this fun and active addition to our playground.
More and more research is showing that mindfulness can improve how the brain works and even change its structure. That means it might help us bounce back from stress more easily and stay focused for longer. People who practice regularly often report feeling calmer, more in control of their emotions, and better equipped to handle life’s ups and downs.
It’s no wonder mindfulness is being recommended more often by mental health professionals. It’s a simple habit with a big impact—one that supports both the mind and body in today’s busy world.
When life gets busy, we need to slow down. Click here to access a collection of mindfulness activities for kids and their famlies from SMILING MIND along with a 5 minute meditation you might find useful in times of stress.

We are excited to invite you to the second workshop in our Parent Workshop Series, taking place on Tuesday, August 5th, during Term 3 and titled “Big Feelings, Brave Responses”.
This session will begin with a brief recap of our first workshop, Understanding Anxiety in Children, before exploring the topics of Self Regulation and Strengthening Connections.
We are delighted to welcome back Elaine O’Connor, Occupational Therapist, who will guide us through practical, evidence-based strategies that parents can use to support their children during challenging times.
Parents who attended our previous session found it highly valuable, and we’re pleased to continue deepening our understanding of this important topic with Elaine’s expert guidance.
The presentation will once again be FREE for St. Mary’s parents and child minding will be offered for St. Mary’s students.
