What a busy and exciting week it’s been at St Mary’s!
Our Year 5/6 students did an outstanding job running their Social Justice Stalls, raising funds for St Vincent de Paul.
These funds will support individuals and families in need within the Altona community, especially meaningful as we head into the Christmas season.
On Monday, our senior students participated in the Virtual Puberty Night. This session provided a valuable opportunity for students and their families to learn together and openly discuss the important changes that occur during puberty.
It was also a big week for sliming! Mr Hein and Mrs Masseni bravely faced a very sticky and slippery situation … much to the delight of our students!

Please bring your child in their school uniform. Can you please provide a white t shirt for them to change into for the colour run.
Event Details:
The 200m Colour Run Track will be filled with exciting activities and colour stations. Students will complete multiple laps throughout the 20 minutes before rotating to the next activity.
We’re looking forward to a fun-filled day!
The students spent the last 5 weeks learning about Catholic Social Justice Principles and our responsibility as catholics to offer support to those less fortunate. This leads into organising their own fundraising stall, which was a great success.
There were 29 different stalls organised to sell the product or experience.
Congratulations to the students on raising $2682.90

No kids. No guilt. Just beers.
We are incredibly proud of Lukas (Grade 2) and Maci Latimer (Prep), whose artwork has been selected for display in the Art Prize Small exhibition at 45 Downstairs Gallery on Flinders Lane.
Both children share a remarkable passion for art, working from their own studio connected to the professional studio of their grandmother, international artist Julee Latimer.
Each school break, Lukas and Maci dedicate time to developing their skills on a range of projects. Their recent focus has been on creating striking linear abstractions using tape and layers of paint. Encouraged by Julee, they entered Small, a unique exhibition where all 20cm square artworks are displayed anonymously and sold for $150, with artists revealed only upon purchase.
The exhibition runs from November 27 to December 18.
Make sure you keep an eye out for both Lukas and Maci in the upcoming edition of the Star Weekly!
Congratulations to Lukas and Maci on this outstanding achievement.

Term 4 has kicked off brilliantly, and as the weather begins to warm up, students can look forward to cooling down with a refreshing icy pole. Our senior student leaders will be selling icy poles for $1 each lunchtime from Monday to Thursday.
All proceeds will go towards supporting the development of our exciting new ninja playground.
Please note our canteen will operate as usual on Fridays.
Thank you for your support in helping us make this fundraiser a success and for giving our students a fun way to stay cool this term!
