St Mary’s PS Feast Day Celebrations
St Mary’s Primary School recently celebrated its Feast Day with great enthusiasm and community spirit. The festivities began on Thursday with a beautiful Mass, bringing students, staff, and families together in reflection and gratitude.
The celebrations continued on Friday with a full day of joyful activities that had everyone smiling.
Students enjoyed a wide range of engaging events, including arts and crafts, lively dance sessions, and energetic tabloid sports. Laughter and excitement filled the air as students moved from one activity to the next. A highlight for many was the sweet treat of ice cream, which was eagerly devoured throughout the fun-filled day.
The Feast Day was a wonderful opportunity for the school community to come together in celebration, honouring the spirit of St Mary through faith, fun, and friendship. It was a memorable event that left students and teachers with lasting memories and full tummies!
As anxiety becomes increasingly prevalent among young children, understanding its signs and effective coping strategies is crucial for parents and caregivers.
Recently, Elaine O’Connor, St. Mary’s parent, occupational therapist and play therapist, conducted a workshop aimed at equipping parents with the knowledge to support their children through anxiety. The session focused on recognizing early signs of anxiety, understanding its causes, and implementing simple tools to help children feel calm and confident. Elaine emphasized the importance of early intervention and provided practical strategies for managing school stress, social anxiety, and other challenges.
The workshop was well-received and so to further assist families, Elaine has generously shared a comprehensive six-page handout summarizing the workshop's key points. This resource offers valuable information and strategies for parents seeking to support their children's mental well-being.
We encourage parents and caregivers to review the handout and share their feedback. Your insights are invaluable in fostering a supportive community for children facing anxiety.
