Students will have taken home the fundraising brochures during the week, and we can see some students have already completed a profile and started to raise money. Well done!
If your child has not already made a profile, please help them to set it up and start raising money.
We look forward to using the Money Raised towards our Lego Education Kits.
The day was filled with excitement as they stepped onto the court, ready to compete against some of the best young players from other schools. From the very beginning, the girls fought hard and displayed great determination, showcasing their skills and teamwork.
As they faced off against talented opponents, the girls remained focused and motivated, rallying together to support one another. Although the team didn’t secure the overall win, their performance was commendable, and they left a lasting impression on everyone in attendance.
As a school community, we are extremely proud of their dedication and performance. Their hard work and commitment to the sport are qualities that will serve them well, both on and off the court. The girls demonstrated not just their athletic abilities but also the importance of camaraderie and respect in sports. We look forward to seeing their continued growth and achievements in the future!
Flying fox
Imagine you’re soaring through the sky without a care in the world! Well that is exactly what the flying fox felt like! I was in group A. The first thing we had to do was get the harness on, which I volunteered to do. Then we got the helmets on and climbed up the tower. The stairs were broken so we had to carefully climb up a metal ladder. It was so fun! When we got off we wanted to go again. Nobody regretted going on it! We all had gigantic smiles on our faces when it had finished! We had such an amazing time on the Flying Fox.
Raft Building
In raft building we walked to the shed first to collect some equipment for the rafts and then walked down to the beach. The weather was a little windy and sunny but the water was FREEZING COLD!! Before we got in we had to make our rafts! We could use pool noodles, rope, boogie boards and other things from the beach like driftwood and seaweed. The instructor told us how to do really secure knots and to connect two pieces of rope together. After that we watched the other team get on their raft and then it was time to get on ours! Ours stayed floating for about 3 minutes with two people on it! It was so fun! After that we got free time in the water! We absolutely loved doing raft building!
Night walk
After we had dinner we went for a beautiful nightwalk! We had a little stop half way and took a look at the golden sunset! Who would not love looking at an astonishing sunset? It was warm and the walk was not very long, we even passed through what looked like a haunted passageway! It was so cool! When we arrived at the beach the sun had just dipped it’s head under a big, fluffy cumulus cloud. We played around at the beach for a while then we all gathered up to take a group photo. After that we had to walk back to our cabins and get ready for the movie. Everyone had such a great time doing the night walk!
Initiative games
We had 2 more cool activities. Initiative games and scooter riding. Initiative games were at the Oval. We did tunnel ball first. It works like this: You need to line up in a row with your legs open. The person at the front will pass the ball under the person behind them. Keep doing that until the person at the end gets the ball. Once the last person gets the ball, they run to the front and pass it down. That was just a warm up. We did lily pad after. It went just like this: Crack the code by jumping on one or two feet. It took my group 10-15 minutes. We eventually completed it. We did another one like lily pad but not the same as lilypad. On a mat. For some reason that one was easier. We did evolution. We started as an egg to a chicken to a dinosaur to a caveman and lastly rockstar! Rockstar was the final stage. We needed to level up by doing rock, paper, scissors. Afterwards, we got free time on the Oval.
Scooter riding
Scooter riding was epic! We had to wear elbow, knee and wrist pads to make sure we were safe and ready. Don’t worry, we wore a helmet too! Once we were geared up, we started with going up and back, just to warm up. We did that a few times, then we went in teams to do a relay in different ways. We did red light, green light. After that, we just had a couple of minutes of free play of scooter riding.
Giant Slide
The giant slide was something you wouldn't picture. I know that the name sounds unusual, but it was magnificent! The slide was long and so enjoyable! Once you went on the slide, you would go up the stairs, back to where you were. The teachers made it as fun as possible.
Before we knew it, we were ready to go back home.
We had such a great time at Portsea Camp.

Exciting News: Naming Our Gaga Pits!
We’re thrilled to announce the results of our recent voting on the names for our new gaga pits! A heartfelt thank you to all the families who participated and shared their enthusiasm for this fun initiative.
We are pleased to reveal that the junior gaga pit will be named Lady Gaga, capturing the playful spirit and creativity of our younger students. Meanwhile, the middle and senior gaga pit will be called the MCG, a nod to the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground, reflecting the excitement and energy of our older students.
In addition to the naming, we are excited to share that our talented school art team will be constructing the vibrant artwork for each gaga pit. This artwork will enhance the spaces and make them even more inviting for all students. We can't wait to see the winning designs come to life!
These gaga pits will provide a fantastic opportunity for students to engage in active play, develop teamwork skills, and have lots of fun together. We look forward to many joyful moments in both the Lady Gaga and MCG gaga pits.
Thank you once again for your participation and support in this initiative. Stay tuned for more updates on the artwork and the exciting events to come!
