We are thrilled to announce that next week will be Ride and Walk to School Week at St Mary’s Primary School! In partnership with IPC Health, a vital part of our local community, we are gearing up for a week filled with fun, fitness, and community spirit.
IPC Health has generously created a special booklet that will guide our activities throughout the week. This booklet is packed with tips, challenges, and fun facts to encourage our students to embrace active transportation methods like riding bikes or walking to school.
To sweeten the deal, IPC Health will be providing fresh fruit for all those who participate on Friday! It's a delicious reward for our students' commitment to physical activity and eco-friendly travel choices.
Ride and Walk to School Week isn't just about the journey to school; it's about the journey towards a healthier, more sustainable future. By choosing to walk or ride, our students are not only improving their own well-being but also reducing traffic congestion and carbon emissions in our community. It's a win-win for everyone involved!
Thank you to IPC Health for their support and partnership in making this event possible. We look forward to seeing all our students' smiling faces as they embrace the joy of active living.
Have a great week of movement, fun, and healthy habits!

St. Mary's is one of 1,041 primary schools and early learning centres across Australia to receive a Woolworths Junior Landcare grant to help grow our next generation of environmental champions.
The children and teachers are looking forward to getting their hands dirty and learning from this project – we’ll keep you updated!

Thanks to Christina Jimena (Ruben Year 3) for the time spent submitting our application.
Once again, St Mary's will be taking part in the Premier's Reading Challenge!
In the past, children had lots of fun reading and logging as many books as they could to meet the Challenge markers.
For Prep to Grade 2's, children have to read 30 books or more before the end of the year, and Grade 3's to 6's have to read 15 or more.
At the end of the year, each successful Challenger receives an official PRC certificate signed by the Premier, and the children who read the most books in the Junior, Middle and Senior sections will win a prize!
To register your child, or for more info, please email me at blycke@smaltona.catholic.edu.au
I need your child’s name, year level and class
Thanks
