Buddy Day

This week we celebrated Buddy Day.  Ava and Mackenzie organised a Buddy Photo booth at recess and made Buddy Bracelets last week with small groups of students.  We had an assembly today where classes shared their messages about how to be a good buddy.
Ava and Mackenzie had this message for the community about being a good buddy.

Welcome everyone! Today is buddy day. It is all about being a  better buddy towards one another. Today we are wearing a splash of purple on our uniforms to represent  kindness and being a better friend

Some example for being a better buddy are:

  • Saying hello and being kind to people in the yard
  • If someone’s lonely in the playground include them in your game
  • Treating people how they want to be treated
  • Apologizing to others if you upset them

We would like everyone here to spread the word to others that treating people kindly will help us be better buddies and that treating people in a negative way is not okay.

We want you to take care of others, treat each other well and spread happiness to everyone around you. Including staff, students, friends and family. You should always treat people with the school values.

All the classes made Better Buddy posters and were invited to tell the community about what their class thought being a better buddy means?
These are displayed outside the staff room.  Please take some time to come in a take a look.

Thank you to all the students and staff who joined in our activities by wearing a splash of purple, making buddy bracelets, making posters, as well as joining in at the photo booth and coming to this assembly.

Some wise words from our Wellbeing Leaders.

Here are some photos from today for you to enjoy.
