2023 Return to School

Sadly the holidays are coming to an end but we are very much looking forward to seeing all of your smiling faces next week as we begin our 2023 School Year.   A few reminders before we begin... Students in Year 1 - 6 will attend school on either Monday 30th Jan or Tuesday 31st Jan for their assessment sessions. Check Operoo for the times allocated to your family. Students can wear casual clothes and should bring food, a water bottle and a sunsmart hat.

Our 2023 Preps will attend school from 9 - 12 noon on Tuesday 31st Jan for an orientation session.  Preps should wear their school uniform.

On Wednesday 1st February all students will start school at 8.45am.  There will be a short assembly on the netball court before students move into class.

All families are invited to a morning tea in the hall once the students have gone to class.  It's a great opporutnity to catch up with friends and also to meet and welcome our new families.  We hope you can make it.

Our 'Getting to Know Your Child' meetings will be held on Monday 6th February and Tuesday 7th February after school on both days.  Please click this link to make a booking or go to www.schoolinterviews.com.au and enter the booking code is 2xbdu

At the end of last year a stationery order list was sent via Operoo.  Please take a look and ensure that your child has all the things they need for the start of the year. Click here to view the list.

We hope that the year goes well for everyone, especially our new families.  We look forward to working with you all.

LLLL Parent Info - 21st Feb

We will be running a Little Learners Love Literacy Prep-2 Parent Information Night on Tuesday 21st February 2023 7:00-8:30pm

Please let us know if you are coming and whether you require child minding services via the Operoo note sent last week. What is Little Learners Love Literacy (LLLL)?

Little Learners Love Literacy® is an explicit and sequential literacy approach for teaching children to read, write and spell with confidence.

Evidence-based literacy research stresses the importance of explicit and sequential literacy teaching from the beginning. Our goal is to have this happening in every Foundation classroom from the start, giving children the best possible chance of developing into fluent readers, writers and spellers.

Little Learners Love Literacy® is a systematic and engaging program with focussed explicit lessons, games, crafts, music, puppets, drawing and much
more.

It's time to think Sunsmart again

We are proud to say that we have been a SUNSMART SCHOOL for 27 years now and as such as all students will be required to wear sunsmart school hats when outdoors, at play and while learning. Regardless of whether the sun is out, students are still required to wear hats from September 1st to the end of April.   Check out the widget at the bottom of our website which will guide you in the hours to especially check UV.

Thanks for your support in ensuring your child has a hat ready to go each day.
